The deer seemed to have moved on. I read that they will move to higher ground as the Spring progresses. I haven’t seen them in almost a week. And the last piles of food I put out have gone uneaten (I guess the birds don’t care for it). The last time I saw them was when we got that last bit of snow. I thought it was because of the snow, but perhaps that was coincidence, and they were on the move, because all the groups I have observed over the Winter were together. Splitear and Buster and the females they run with, and all the adolescents. I guess 10 or 12 in total. I noticed that Splitear had lost his antlers. I almost didn’t recognize him, but got a good look at his split ear and the scar on his right flank. One lone female did come by a day or so later. She didn’t stay long, poked around a little bit then moved on.

I have seen both Susu and Chuck. I hope I get to see some babies!

No new birds seen yet. Plan on making up some hummingbird nectar this weekend. I will fill up the smaller one first and once I get some activity there I will hang the new larger one.
